We’re pleased to introduce this month’s Featured Acupuncturist Devon Vernetti! Devon is a truly inspiring clinician and gifted healer, so please read below and find out more about her and her practice, Acupuncture by Devon.
Dr. Devon became a healthcare professional to work with people, be an educator and make a difference in her patient’s lives by providing an effective, preventative, and non-invasive healthcare solution. Early on, Dr. Devon earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Urban Planning and Environmental Policy and worked as an environmental consultant implementing environmentally sustainable programs throughout the world. During this time, Dr. Devon realized she wanted to focus her passion towards creating a healthy environment to individuals seeking a better quality of life.
In 2006, Dr. Devon was accepted to Pacific College of Oriental Medicine where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and earned a Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine. She continued her education at the Chengdu University Hospital in the Sichuan Province of China where she worked within an integrated healthcare management system. Most recently, Dr. Devon completed her Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM).

Dr. Devon’s practice is diverse including pain management, sports injuries, fertility, pregnancy, pediatrics, and internal medicine.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your journey to acupuncture:
I was led to acupuncture through my desire to be involved in something bigger than myself. I enjoy helping people of all ages and traditional Chinese medicine offers a career opportunity that aligned with my values. I am grateful everyday that I became an acupuncturist. I am in my seventh year of practice and it still excites me. It gives me the freedom to grow and learn both personally and professionally.
What inspires you about working with kids?
I am inspired to work with children because it is a crucial step in shifting the healthcare system; to think preventative care instead of reactionary. If children are introduced to acupuncture early in life, they will be more likely to choose it as an option as an adult. The quick and impactful results that I see treating children is inspiring and encouraging for the patient, the parents, and me.
What is your philosophy about keeping kids healthy?
My philosophy is to teach the children and parents how to stay healthy with acupuncture and nutrition. Kids are quick to recover from health issues and with the right tools they can avoid disease and discomfort all together.
